KEELY'S KEYNOTES

KEELY'S KEYNOTES

KEYNOTE #1: REDEFINING RESILIENCE: Harnessing The Power of Micro-Moments of Connection™

Every person, organization, or group will face adversity. The ability to survive, and even find success, through times of adversity is critical to personal and professional survival. Resilience is not about being invincible, but about having the capacity to bounce back from adversity. Knowing this, redefining resilience as a dynamic, adaptable state, not just a fixed trait, becomes critical to our ability to survive and succeed. By understanding the power of micro-moments of connection and intentionally cultivating how these small, seemingly significant interactions grow our overall resilience, we can build a stronger, more resilient foundation for ourselves and our communities ensuring our ability to thrive, not just survive, through adversity.

KEYNOTE #2: It Takes a Village

In a world that is growing in complexity, filled with adversity, and highly dependent upon interconnection and communication, the African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child” is truer than ever before. In today’s age of rapid change, volatile environments, and unpredictability, it is imperative that we recognize and embrace our role and responsibility as villagers of the many villages we belong to; influencing and impacting the success of our children and each other. Leading and living with an intentional focus on contributing to building environments where we, and all of those around us, feel connection and belonging is essential for individual well-being, societal harmony, and personal and organizational success. In this keynote, learn the tools you can immediately implement to become a high-impact “villager” and immediately begin to grow connection and success in you and within the “villages” you belong to.

TESTIMONIALS

Few can speak with the humbling perspective of former educator and mother Keely Roberts, whose family was among those attacked and wounded in an Independence Day mass shooting in Highland Park, IL. In our private conversations, I was struck with how she’s been placed on an unlikely path by tragedy which illuminates life’s most vibrant questions: ‘Why are we here?’, ‘Where are we going together?’, ‘And can we accept of change that which we cannot always control?’ In this, Keely speaks both from the heart and with the wisdom of a born teacher.

The Reeve Foundation met Keely, Cooper, and the Roberts family at a moment of profound tragedy, as sadly is too often the case given our proximity to and support in the aftermath of the unspeakable violence. In the years that followed, we’ve observed their triumph of spirit and hope in spite of a heartbreak. Keely’s determination to never allow this injury to diminish her son’s or family’s quality of life, and to fight for scientific advances that we believe will soon begin to result in curative therapies for Cooper, give Keely the ability to lead others toward hope and we are honored to share her dedication to this important work.
